The Unit

This standalone restorative unit is designed for dentists who want to deliver implant restorations from single units to full-arch cases without the surgical placement component. It is an ideal starting point for those new to implants in clinical practice, and a natural introduction to the full Diploma in Implant Dentistry programme.

Dentists trained in restorative implant dentistry can work alongside a trained and competent implant surgeon who places the implants, making this a genuinely practical, clinically relevant qualification from day one.

The course is built around restorative-driven thinking, covering digital and analogue workflows, occlusion, and effective dentist–laboratory communication. Learners complete a structured online theory module at their own pace, then attend a single hands-on training day working on implant models to convert that knowledge into practical skill.

  • Select and prescribe appropriate implant restorations, including single units, multi-unit restorations, and full-arch fixed and removable prostheses.

  • Carry out restorative procedures including impressions, intraoral scanning, scan bodies, torque devices, try-in procedures and final prosthesis fitting.

  • Understand screw-retained vs cement-retained options and how to manage occlusion and parafunction.

  • Communicate effectively with the dental laboratory and accurately prescribe restorations.

  • Apply restorative-driven planning principles across digital and analogue workflows.

  • Plan for long-term maintenance and ongoing patient care.
